Actually... My mom used to buy me similar slippers as a kid. Looks almost like this, but at the heel part, there's like an arc wherein your heel can fit and not slide to the sides... As a child I remember being so happy and wearing it all the time even though it'll give me cramps sometimes.

They are made of cardboard with thin coating of leather [if lucky], if not it is plastic, or vinyl over cardboard, and plenty of superglue and weights to hold together, it is just that factories does it faster and automated, but the actions are not much better, and bought shoes don't last that much longer, and you pay a heck of a lot more.

this is not different than high heels, and some people slide forward towards the thong so cant wear them at all. I think the point was that you could change not that they have to be thongs.

Shoes are designed for looks. Most shoes are bad for your feet, especially high heels.

What are u on about these wedge flip flops can absolutely be worn I have a black pair that are from a high street well known retail store, most designer red bottom heels are more likely bad for a lot of women's feet and a foot wear specialist will tell u that hence why ppl go on to develop foot problems over time, but guess what they sell in stores any way its not illegal I've studied footwear, this is how you build up a wedge heel the only difference is the flip flops will act as a sole board and you can add Cork (thats one way of doing it) to build up the the wedge heel underneath the sole like he did with the flip flops, maybe there was no model on hand to show us how it fits these wedge flip flops were quite popular in the early 2000s sold and bought in many retail stores it maybe not good for the feet but what this man has created many western shops sell.

I enjoyed the sound of him working in his lil shop too.

@@pricer39 You're right, I missed the consumables. He used two different types of glue. @03:05 he used "CA" glue / cyanoacrylate glue AKA *Super* *Glue* to affix the straps. The next / thicker yellowish one in the clear water bottle is more than likely *Contact* *Cement* AKA "contact adhesive". I say this because the procedure for adhering two surfaces together with this adhesive requires a bit of a dwell time for the adhesive to become tacky before pressing them together for a permanent bond - you can see him preventing contact with the foam wedge he placed in there @03:38. And you can see the jump cut while he waited for the sole of the shoe to dwell before adhering it. Additionally, the EVA foam that these flip flops are (probably) made of is typically fused using contact cement.
